A new moon signals a new 30 day cycle. With a new cycle comes a new theme for us to focus on. All new moons are important. However some, like this upcoming one in Leo, have a little extra magic and significance behind them.
Circumcision of the Heart
We will see the new moon take shape August 8th. 8/8. Let's start by looking at the magic of this number.
Visually the number 8 is an upright infinity symbol. In numerology, 8 symbolizes abundance, wealth, and prosperity. In biblical numerology, 8 is the number of new beginnings or "new order". Interestingly enough Christ was resurrected on the 8th day of the week and Hebrew boys were traditionally circumcised on the 8th day of their life.
The practice of circumcision was not something solely done in the Jewish community. The 5th century BCE writings of Greek historian Herodotus list the Egyptians, Ethiopians, and Syrians as other cultures who utilized the practice. What set the Jews a part however, was that for them circumcision was more than a rite of passage. This was a symbol of their convenant relationship with God, their national deity. The Bible also speaks of circumcision in terms of matters of the heart. In Romans 2 the apostle Paul writes:
“28 A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical. 29 No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God."
So what does all this have to do with the current astological happenings??
Not only does this Sunday mark a new moon it also marks the opening of Lion's Gate. More than a production company, Lion's Gate refers to the astrological alignment between Earth, Sirius (known as our "spiritual sun" it is the second brightest star in our solar system) and the Sun (currently transitioning through the sign of Leo). This alignment then aligns with Orion’s Belt.
While the portal is technically open July 23rd - August 12th, the 8th is said to be the time when the gate is officially activated.
8/8 has been celebrated as a spiritual date for thousands of years. Sirius' rising and alignment with the sun was considered to be a significant event in many ancient cultures. Civilizations as far back as the Dogon tribe of Africa, Sumer, and Ancient Egypt tracked the Sirius star system across the sky, despite lacking any modern technology (Astrostyle)
Since days past civilizations have studied and celebrated this particular day understanding it’s spiritual importance. The Pyramids of Giza in Egypt perfectly align with this summer occurance.
But why is Lion's Gate so important?
Sirius rises during the middle of the summer. Its energy forces opportunities for dramatic new beginnings.
This is a time where new levels of consciousness are infused into the planet and also into each of us individually. So as this gate swings open, we are swept over the threshold—almost like one of those old movies where the bride is lifted up and carried over the doorstep as a symbol of the beginning of a new life.

Lions Gate is a time of new beginnings for your spirit. When the gate is open ( aka Sirius, Sun and Orion’s Belt align ) it seems like the heart of God is open to you. Not like it isn’t during other times of the year, it’s just that this period in particular is more like a power up or a warp zone in Mario Bros. You just have to know where it is in order to get the extra energy or skip the levels.
Astrology and Our World
I believe our government, Hollywood, cooperations and other infrastructures understand what’s going on astrologically. They understand dates and times ( the Olympics began on July 23rd which was the first Aquarius full moon and the start of Leo season and ends on August 8th -Lions Gate and Leo New Moon) and recognize the importance of spiritual principles. They’ve been dedicated to their faith for quite some time and we are undeniably living in a world that has been ransacked by the spiritual principles they live by. It is the reason for the world climate we’re experiencing today.
Those who perceive it, are beginning to speak up and speak out. You’re starting to ask questions and become vocal about things that are just not adding up.
If you can perceive that things are not quite right in your world, then you can sense the realm of the spirit. Sensing the spirit realm means it's the perfect time to engage your faith.
How To Engage Your Faith
- Take a walk by yourself. Hug a tree. Lay in a field. Pick flowers. Nature is a part of you and you are a part of it. It is very easy to hear the spirit of God when you are in your natural element.
- Read - Pick up the Bible and just read. It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand it. The word is like a vitamin for your soul. You just take it and let it do what it’s supposed to do. Whatever you take in from the word always comes back in a way that boosts your spiritual immune system.
- Enjoy the ride.
Lion's Gate is said to be open from July 23rd to August 12th. I personally believe the energy from this alignment will be with us until the Virgo new moon September 7th , 2021.
You’ve got about a month to learn to relax and get in step with the rhythm of your spirit, and the rhythm is peace and joy. God thinks the world of you. His heart is with you always and the gate is open now. Any thought that doesn’t agree with that isn’t true and is only trying to rob you of your peace and joy.
This New Moon, Lions Gate day, if we want to change our world, we- you and me, as individuals must believe. The spirit of God is with you. He is all things to all people. He doesn’t look at appearance, he looks at your heart. And just like the physical circumcision of the Hebrew boys on the 8th day, 8/8 is the opportunity for the spiritual circumcision of your heart.
It is said that each new moon is linked to its corresponding full moon 6 months later. In this case, whatever seeds you sow now will come to bloom during the time of the full Moon in Leo, Feb 16th , 2022.
This New Moon, Lions Gate day, If we want to change our world, we- you and me, as individuals must have faith. Hebrews 11:6 says
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
The time is now.
Faith is the only way through the gate.
And the gate is open.
